MeteoGroup opens new Swedish weather operation

MeteoGroup, Europe’s largest private weather company, has launched a new business in Sweden – MeteoGroup Scandinavia – bringing a wide portfolio of weather products to Swedish customers.

Based in Stockholm, the business will provide a platform for sales of MeteoGroup products into Scandinavia. These include supplying tailored weather information to energy, marine, road maintenance and other industrial customers, as well as providing a service for newspapers, TV and radio.

To coincide with the opening of the new business a Swedish-language weather website, www.meteogroup.se, has also been launched.  This is a comprehensive weather website providing in-depth global forecasts and information for the consumer as well as extensive details of services for professional markets ranging from energy to offshore.

Business Development Manager, Ralf Davidsson, will run the new office.  Ralf has extensive sales experience in technical markets and previously spent nine years building up various businesses within the Swedish pharmaceutical industry.

MeteoGroup’s Managing Director, Jennie Campbell, said: "MeteoGroup has a great portfolio of products, our aim is to market these as widely as possible into new territories.

"We feel Scandinavia is an exciting new market, particularly Sweden, where there is currently very little private sector competition in weather.  The market demands credible competition and we aim to offer Swedish customers genuine choice.”
