Position title: Accounts Payable
Office location: Wageningen (Netherlands)

What I do:  I’m responsible for the accounts payable (for the Netherlands region mainly)

My key tasks are: I make sure that all purchase invoices and expenses are in our books for the correct period and are paid on time. I also deal with suppliers and employees, answering any questions they may have.

A typical Tuesday

Morning:  On Tuesday I arrive at the office at around 7.30am. I open my emails to check if there is anything that urgently needs attention. After checking my emails I proceed with booking invoices and expenses, and once completed I make payment proposals. My email is always open, so I can deal with anything urgent that arises.

Afternoon: After finishing the payment proposals I submit them for approval, and when approved I can pay these. Between these activities I will answer emails and any phone calls I receive. After finishing the payment process I then continue to book more invoices and expenses, and completing any other tasks that come my way. My workday ends at around 16.15, when I head home. 

Evening:  After dinner I usually go to the gym and watch some TV before going to bed.


If I could give you one piece of advice, it would be don’t forget to have fun! Do things you like, which make you happy.
