MeteoGroup presents weather-based Dynamic Line Rating solution at E-World 2018
New Gas Allocation Temperature parameter increases allocation accuracy by 20%-50%
Berlin, January 16, 2018 – The transmission capacity of overhead power lines is highly dependent on the cooling capacity of the current weather conditions. At E-world 2018, Europe’s Leading Energy Trade Fair, 6 – 8 February 2018 in Essen, Germany. MeteoGroup, the global weather authority, will present (Hall 3, Stand 121) its Dynamic Line Rating (DLR) solution. DLR calculates the probability of individual weather scenarios along the total length of a power line to derive the relative line capacity. In this way, security of supply is increased and grid usage is optimised.
Parameter Gas Allocation Temperature
At Europe’s leading trade fair for the energy and water industry, MeteoGroup will also present its new Parameter Gas Allocation Temperature, which was developed in collaboration with the BDEW, (the German Federal Association of the Energy and Water Industries), and enables optimum gas allocation by optimally forecasting demand. The new Gas Allocation Temperature parameter increases allocation accuracy by 20%-50%.
MeteoGroup’s Dynamic Line Rating solution works in tandem with its Hotspot Analysis. Hotspots are sections in the power line with the lowest available capacity at a given time. MeteoGroup has developed a weather-driven power line climate model to detect these hotspots, allowing grid operators to prevent and manage congestion.
